...and Focusing will help you get in touch and connect with what your body has to say.
Just like a knot in your stomach will tell you when something isn’t right, your body senses everything and holds the key to inner change. Focusing digs deeper and helps you to become aware of what’s going on inside and how it affects everything you do. You’ll learn to listen to your body as a whole and pay attention to how you truly feel at any moment. As a result, you’ll become more accepting of yourself and gain a newfound clarity that will enhance every challenge or creative endeavor you face. When you learn to trust your body and it’s inherent wisdom, you’ll become a more centered individual who has even more to offer to everyone you come in contact with.
Focusing workshops offer a tangible, proven training program with a detailed manual of instruction. Individuals and couples should ask me about how it enhances your current therapy program and consider coming to a one of my free ninety-minute workshops “Introduction to Focusing,” and “Reducing Stress.” Healthcare professionals (body-workers, therapists, acupuncture etc.) can learn more about integrating focusing into your healing work here.

Fellow Healer/Body-Worker, Charlotte House LMP shared," I’m always searching for tools where I can both heal myself through increased self-awareness, and use the same techniques with clients. ‘Focusing’ is one such tool."
"I have attended two Focusing classes with Jeffrey Morrison. He is a gentle, unassuming, competent, loving presence for teaching this work. I find the Focusing process almost identical to the Somatic Experiencing work I learned in Peter Levine’s course on trauma therapy, but far easier to learn and more simply presented. It feels wonderful to deepen my presence skills by using this work."
A Naturopath/Acupuncturist that took the Focusing Workshop shared, "I have used it in my practice when people seem to be getting overwhelmed with emotion when receiving acupuncture. It works really well to help them feel safe and protected. I have touched on it when I hear people say 'I just want this (depression, anger, resentment...) to go away.'"

Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Focusing Trainer. President of the Seattle Counselors Association.
My lifelong desire to understand the world around me led me to degrees in philosophy and religion. Although I studied psychology as an undergraduate, it was my exposure to Focusing, and gaining a deeper understanding of myself, that urged me to concentrate on psychology in depth.
At Seattle University I earned my master’s degree in Existential Phenomenological Psychology. I then worked in agency and school settings putting my newfound knowledge to work with adolescents, parents and teachers…while I concurrently studied postgraduate training in Family Systems Therapy from the Montlake Institute.
Through private practice in West Seattle and Vashon Island, I’ve developed a style of therapy blending psychology, philosophy, religion and Focusing, intent on helping people connect emotionally with themselves and others.

In their own words…
How has focusing helped you?
“Focusing has helped me be with difficult feelings that before would overwhelm me and prevent me from connecting with myself and others. In the past these feelings of depression, rage and lonliness were like enemies wrestling me down to the ground and holding me in a headlock. At times I would be held there for weeks or months wanting an escape. Now I feel like I have a tool to use that provides a nice distance and opens up my field of vision to see and experience the feelings more fully and safely. I am able to comfortably listen to them, feel touched by them and work with them and be transformed in the process. I am much more aware of other feelings like gratitude, joy, and connection and my life feels richer. What I like about focusing is I can do it by myself since I learned how to do it and I can do it anytime.”
How would you describe my approach to therapy?
“What I like best about your approach to therapy is the attention you place on our relationship. It is a warm and caring partnership that is mutual. We work together in the here and now making the experience feel alive and changing. It's more than talk therapy.”
“Working with you helped me to tune in to my inner voice and learn to trust it. It’s a skill set I rely on heavily in my coaching work and also in my business and personal life. I feel more balanced in making decisions based on logic and intuition rather that using the , “What should I be doing,” method. Being able to tap into my inner self has taken me to a new level, leaving me with a strong sense of self and self trust…leading me down a new course in life…a more authentic, courageous course.”
